I started EctraMedium collective in June of 2011 not only to use it as a tool to promote and connect local artistic talent but to attack issues directly and indirectly tied to the young world of my generation. EcstraMedium is a medium through which local talent, not only in the visual arts, can promote perspectives on social issues and interactions which gear concepts that in turn shape our surrounding world. What I would like EcstraMedium to be is a revolution facilitating collective. We are here to promote social issues that bring us to the path of social change. This change is not immediate and local but diffused into a larger worldwide scope.

FILTER

Show:

Filter

Friday, December 16,  6pm

2442 n. avers, chicago il. 60647

This show will be the first at our new location in West Logan Square.

Filter is a portrait show- gruesome, sexual, graphic, iconic, nasty, creepy, repulsive, intriguing, personal, gross, obnoxious, erotic, disturbed, confusing portraits.

In depth, the premise of this and shows to come is based on social issues such as communication and ultimately a path towards social change.

This show specifically deals with social interactions and the issue a lot of people confront in today’s world: lack of confidence in public contexts.
The show is a superficial project through which i want to root an open discussion during and after the show of the impact a glimpse of someone’s thought process can have on the social networks we are established in as 21st century individuals living in an energetic and rambunctious world. The city.
